Component Replacement

The servo control (regulator) and the control module are different between the two systems. The control module is serviced as described in M.R.289. The regulator is serviced as described in this I.S. note. All other components are serviced as described in the M.R.289.



Regulator Removal

1. Press retaining clip (A) holding windshield wiper/washer connector and slide connector out of the bracket.
2. Position the tie strap (B) so that the windshield wiper/washer connector can be separated. DO NOT cut the tie strap. Separate the connector.



3. Remove two nuts (C) holding the regulator housing to the inner fender.



4. Disconnect clip (D) holding the vacuum line to the housing.

5. Remove torx head screws (E).
6. Slide regulator assembly out of housing.



7. Disconnect safety solenoid connector (F).

8. Disconnect vacuum control connector (G).

9. Disconnect vacuum line (H).

10. Remove regulator.
Regulator Installation

1. Connect vacuum hose and electrical connectors.

2. Slide housing over regulator assembly.

3. Install torx head screws.

4. Install regulator to inner fender with two nuts.

5. Install vacuum line into clip and lock clip.

6. Assemble windshield wiper/washer connector making sure that the tie strap is around the connector.

7. Slide the windshield wiper/washer connector into the bracket.



Safety Solenoid Removal

1. Remove the regulator as previously described.

2. Disconnect vacuum line (J).
3. Remove two bolts (K) and remove solenoid.
Safety Solenoid Installation

1. Install the safety solenoid with two bolts.

2. Install the vacuum line.

3. Install the regulator as previously described.



Pneumatic Control Removal

Remove the regulator as previously described.

Disconnect vacuum line (L).

Remove two bolts and pneumatic control.

Pneumatic Control Installation

Install pneumatic control with two bolts.

Install vacuum line.

Install the regulator as previously described.



Engine Overspeed Relay

The engine overspeed relay is located at the lower left outside corner of the fuse box (M).
Pull the relay out to remove it. Push the relay in to install it.
