A revised A/C control panel has been released for the 1988 Medallion. The new control panel (PN T1032837) is wired differently and may be equipped with a micro switch that has terminals narrower than those used on the original control unit.


In order to install the new control unit on an earlier model, it may be necessary to use 5 step down adaptor wires to assure a proper electrical connection. The step down wires are included with the replacement control panel.


REPAIR PROCEDURE


Refer to the M.R. 289 for A/C control panel removal procedures.


With the control panel removed, inspect the micro switches.

FIGURE 1:

If the terminals on the original panel are larger than the terminals on the replacement part, install the step down wires and connect the panel to the harness using Figure 1 as a guide.

FIGURE 2:

If the terminals on the original panel are the same size as the replacement part, discard the step down wires and connect the panel to the harness using Figure 2 as a guide.
