Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Coolant Temperature Sensor:

CAUTION: It is essential that coolant does not spill onto the drive belt or pulleys. Coolant in these places may cause belt slippage and/or squeal. Cover the belt area with shop towels or plastic to protect it from spilled coolant. If coolant spills onto the belt or pulleys, wash them with clean water.

2. Get the replacement coolant temperature sensor and have it ready when you remove the old sensor.
3. Remove the coolant temperature sensor and install the new sensor, torqueing it to 21 lbs. ft. (28 N-m).
4. Connect electrical connector to coolant temperature sensor.
5. Remove cover from belt area and replace any lost coolant.
