Relay Tests

Relay Terminal Identification:

1. Check the continuity of relay terminals "87A" and "30" with the relay DE-ENERGIZED. If the relay shows no continuity, replace the relay.
2. Check the continuity of relay terminals "87" and "30" with the relay ENERGIZED. If the relay shows no continuity, replace the relay.
3. Check the resistance between terminals "85" and "86". For a resistor type relay, the resistance should be between 70 and 80 ohms. For a diode type relay, the resistance should be between 81 and 91 ohms. If the resistance values do not match resistance measured, replace the relay.
