Pressure Monitoring Module Operation

The pressure monitoring module controls pump operation by grounding the pump relay coil in response to accumulator pressure. The pressure monitoring module contains two pressure switches. If these switches do not indicate the same pressure, or if low accumulator pressure is detected, the sensor block will turn on the BRAKE warning lamp and the ANTI-LOCK warning lamp, and disable the anti-lock function.

WARNING: The accumulator must be discharged any time service is performed on the sensor block. A hydraulic port from the accumulator to the pressure monitoring module is located behind the sensor block. Refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Antilock Brake System/Accumulator/Service and Repair
