Seat Belt Systems: Description and Operation
The automatic
seat belt system incorporates the use of both mechanical and electronic components. The system operates mechanically by the use of track and drive assemblies, lap belt retractor assemblies and a console mounted retractor. Electronically, the system uses a passive belt control module which controls motors, tension eliminators and the system warning lamp. Inputs from the ignition switch, retractor and limit switches and distance sensor are used by the control module to operate the outputs to the motors and warning lamp.
