DISCUSSION:

The following procedure supplements the information in the 1991 Laser/Talon Service Manuals, Publication Numbers 81-270-1500 and 81-270-1501. This procedure has been developed for 1991 Laser vehicles built without a Fuel Pump Check Connector. Use this procedure whenever it is necessary to check fuel pressure and pump operation on these vehicles.





1. Remove the right hand console side cover.

2. Remove the MPI control relay.





3. Connect battery voltage to cavity 2 of the MPI harness connector. The fuel pump should be running. Listen for the pump running by removing the fuel filler cap.
