Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation
Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit:
PURPOSE
The Barometric Pressure Sensor measures atmospheric pressure and converts the measurement into a voltage signal which is sent to the ECM.
The ECM uses the voltage signal to adjust the air-fuel ratio and ignition timing as altitude changes, thus improving driveability at high altitude.
LOCATION
The barometric pressure sensor is located in the Air Flow Sensor (AFS).
