Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: The Idle Position Switch and the Throttle Position Sensor are incorporated into one module.

1. With the accelerator pedal released, check to see that the throttle valve lever and the Fixed SAS are touching.
If not, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES to adjust the Fixed SAS.

2. Disconnect the Idle Position Switch connector.

3. Check for continuity between terminals # 1 and # 2.
^ With the accelerator pedal depressed, continuity should NOT exist.
^ With the accelerator pedal released, continuity should exist.

NOTE: If there is no continuity while the accelerator pedal is released, loosen the TPS installation screw, turn the TPS in a counterclockwise direction, and recheck.

4. If there is a deviation in the tests results, replace the sensor.
