Clutch: Adjustments

Fig. 1 Clutch Pedal Inspection:






1. Measure clutch pedal height or clevis pin play as shown.

2. If height is higher than 6.93 to 7.13 inches, refer to the image for adjustments.

3. On all models, if pedal height is lower than 6.93 to 7.13 inches, proceed as follows:
a. Loosen bolt or clutch switch and turn pushrod until pedal height is correct. Do not move pushrod toward master cylinder.
b. After adjustment, tighten bolt or clutch switch to reach pedal stopper, then lock with locknut.

4. If clevis pin play is not 1.4 to 2.1 inch, proceed as follows:
a. Turn pushrod until clevis pin play is correct.
5. Ensure interlock switch is as shown, when clutch pedal is fully depressed, if necessary adjust.

6. Confirm clutch pedal freeplay is 0.24 to 0.51 of inch.
7. Confirm distance between clutch pedal and firewall, when clutch is disengaged is 2.2 inches or more. If distance is not as specified, problem may be the result of air in hydraulic system or faulty master cylinder or clutch.
