Camshaft Position Sensor - Installation

INSTALLATION






1. The camshaft position (CMP) sensor O-ring (1) can be reused if not damaged.
2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the sensor O-ring (1).





3. Install the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (1). Tighten bolt (2) to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.).





4. Connect and lock the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor wire harness connector (1).





5. Install the oil separator housing (4) to the cylinder head cover with three bolts (2) tightened to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.).
6. Connect the vent hose (3) to the cylinder head cover.
7. Connect the PCV hose (1) to the intake manifold.





8. Install the air cleaner body (1) .

9. Install the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
10. The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components .
