Programming and Relearning

STANDARD PROCEDURE - COLUMN RELEARN

NOTE: If the Electric Power Steering (EPS) column has been replaced, the following steps must be performed to ensure that the column is functioning correctly.

1. Perform the Vehicle Trim Procedure Vehicle Trim Procedure.
2. Set the parking brake and start the engine.
3. Place the transmission in Neutral.
4. Starting with the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, turn the wheel in the following manner:
a. All the way to the left until it stops.
b. All the way to the right until it stops.
c. All the way to the left until it stops.
d. All the way to the right until it stops.
e. Return the wheel to the straight ahead position.
5. Verify that the steering assist works smoothly, with no hard points and/or sudden variation.
6. Verify that the EPS warning light is not illuminated.
