Trunk / Liftgate Switch: Testing and Inspection

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the handle and light bar unit from the liftgate. Exterior Handle Lamp Bar - Removal.
3. Disconnect the body wire harness connector from the handle and light bar connector.
4. Using a multimeter, test the resistance between the terminals of the light bar connector while actuating the liftgate release switch as shown in the Liftgate Release Switch Tests table.





5. If the switch fails any of the tests, replace the switch (light bar and handle unit) as required.
