Service Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle on appropriate hoist.





2. Remove and save the underbody plastic splash shield (Figure 1).





3. Inspect the open starter motor mounting bolt hole for debris and clean as required (Figure 2).

4. Install a new starter motor mounting bolt into the open starter motor mounting bolt hole (Figure 2). Tighten the starter motor mounting bolt to 20 ft.lbs. (27 Nm).





5. Remove and discard the original starter motor lower mounting bolt (Figure 3).





6. Install a new starter motor lower mounting bolt and tighten the starter motor mounting bolt to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm) (Figure 4).

7. Install the underbody plastic

8. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
