Front Ride Height Setting Procedure

Front Ride Height Setting Procedure

1. Drive vehicle to hoist turn ignition key OFF and turn it back to run; exit vehicle close the door and allow the system to vent vehicle down to kneel height (approx 30 sec).

2. Connect NGS tester to the vehicle.

3. Select 1997 4.6L/5.4L Expedition - 4WAS module.

4. Select "Parameter reset command" under "active command modes" menu; trigger through warning message and reset "Front" and "Rear" (turn from OFF to ON) version 10.0 only! (later version will only need to reset "Front").

5. Back out torsion bar adjustment bolt (approximately 40 mm from bolt head to bottom surface of torsion bar adjuster).

6. Deflate front air shocks by using NGS "Vent Front" command in "Air Suspension control" menu and jounce front of the vehicle to fully lower the front of the vehicle.

7. Adjust and measure the vehicle ride height. Adjustments to reset vehicle front ride height.

8. NOTE: Do not under any circumstances "save rear" ride heights there are precalibrated value already stored in control module. See procedure in this section.

Once mechanically ride heights are set select "Save calibration Values" NGS command under "Active Command modes" menu to calibrate module. Trigger through warning message and save "FRONT" (turn from OFF to ON)
