Flatness

NOTE: Do not plane or grind off more than 0.254 mm (0.010 inch). The cylinder head used on the 7.3L diesel engine is not refinishable. Replacement is the only authorized service.

When a cylinder head is removed because of gasket leaks, check the flatness of the cylinder head gasket surface for conformance to specification. If necessary, refinish the cylinder head surface.
