DESCRIPTION
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is intended to alert the driver of certain malfunctions in the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) system. The MIL output is turned ON when the strategy detects a fault in input/output circuits. The lamp will remain ON as long as the fault is present. Regulations governing this lamp also require that the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) be displayed by the flashing of this lamp.
