Connecting Rod Bolt





CAUTION: The connecting rod cap will fit only one way.

Position the lower connecting rod bearing and the connecting rod cap on the connecting rod and the crankshaft journal.

Inspect the connecting rod bearing clearance.

Install the rod caps. Tighten the bolts in three stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 2: Tighten the bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 3: Tighten the bolts an additional 90 - 120°.

Install the remaining pistons and the connecting rods.
