PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

The autolamp system is controlled by the vehicle security module (VSM) and provides light sensitive automatic on/off control of the exterior lamps normally controlled by the headlamp switch. When low light conditions are detected, the VSM supplies voltage to the exterior lamps on the same circuits used by the headlamp switch.

The autolamp system keeps the exterior lamps on for a predetermined period of time after the ignition switch is turned off. The predetermined time lapse is adjustable up to approximately 3 minutes. Refer to the Owner's Literature for further information about the autolamp time lapse adjustment.
