Removal and Installation
1. Depower the supplemental restraints system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the steering column.
^ Place the steering column on a clean workbench.
3. Position the column in the full upward position.





4. Using suitable tools, push the first roll pin out of the fixed shoe.
5. Pivoting on the second roll pin, tilt the fixed shoe downward.





6. Position the tilt lever to rest against the steering column housing.





7. Remove the ignition switch screw and the ignition switch.
^ To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

8. CAUTION: Make sure the electrical wiring harness is routed correctly and secured to the steering column or damage to the wires and/or connectors may occur.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
