Pinpoint Test AP: The Keyboard Is Completely Inoperative

Normal Operation

The Bluetooth keyboard can be used to interact with the in-dash computer by utilizing the Bluetooth connection.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Customer error

- Batteries

- Bluetooth connection concern

- Keyboard

PINPOINT TEST AP : THE KEYBOARD IS COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE

AP1 CHECK THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

NOTE: The mobile phone must be paired as a phone, not as a device, for this step to produce accurate results.

- Using a known good Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, attempt to pair to the in-dash computer. Refer to the Owner's Literature.

- Check the list of devices paired with the in-dash computer.
- From the home screen, press SETTINGS, then BLUETOOTH.


Is the mobile phone in the list of available devices?

Yes
GO to AP2.

No
GO to Pinpoint Test AN. Pinpoint Test AN: The Phone/Bluetooth Interface Is Inoperative

AP2 CHECK THE KEYBOARD BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

NOTE: The keyboard must be paired as a device, not as a phone, for this step to produce accurate results.

- Pair the keyboard with the in-dash computer using the Bluetooth connection. Refer to the Owner's Literature.

- Test the system for normal operation.

Does the keyboard operate correctly?

Yes
The cause of the concern was the keyboard not being paired correctly with the in-dash computer. INSTRUCT the customer in the correct method for pairing a Bluetooth device. The system is operating correctly.

No
GO to AP3.

AP3 CHECK THE KEYBOARD BATTERIES

- Install a known good set of batteries in the keyboard.

- Test the system for normal operation.

Does the keyboard operate correctly?

Yes
The cause of the concern was inoperative batteries. The system is now operating correctly.

No
REPLACE the keyboard. TEST the system for normal operation.
