Test 6 Feedback Carburetor Actuator (FBCA)

NOTE: Apply 15 inches Hg vacuum to zone vacuum switches for this test.


1. Reconnect vehicle harness connector to MCU and EGO sensor.

2. With engine running on low speed of fast idle cam, disconnect vehicle harness from FBCA motor.

3. Allow 120 seconds after start of engine, then connect a known good FBCA motor, with pintle fully depressed, to the vehicle harness. Do not remove existing stepper motor from carburetor.

4. While observing the FBCA motor shaft, remove PCV hose from carburetor. If FBCA motor shaft extends fully in 10-15 seconds, reconnect PCV hose to carburetor and Thermactor hose to pump. If FBCA motor shaft does not extend, reconnect PCV hose to carburetor and proceed to Test 7.
