Convertible Top - Dust Cover Installation

1983 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE To make the installation of the dust cover over the convertible top easier, the top stack should be lowered in the well by removing the padding from between the top rails.
1. Unlatch the hooks holding the top header to the windshield.
NOTE: It is not necessary to unzip the back window to lower the top. The window may be lowered with the top up to improve ventilation.

2. Lower top approximately 3/4 down (Figure 1).
3. Gently push padding out from between top rails.
(CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH THE TOP MECHANISM DOWN WHILE CLEARING THE PAD FROM THE RAILS.)
4. Lower top the remainder of the way into the well.

5. Install boot as shown in attached directions (Figures 1 through 4).
