Lock Cylinder Housing


Removal
1. Remove steering column assembly from vehicle.
2. Remove turn signal and wiper/washer switch from steering column.
3. Remove upper and lower steering shaft bearings on non-tilt column, or lower bearing only on tilt column.
4. Remove 2 bolts securing lock cylinder housing to outer tube flange. Rotate ignition key to ``Start'' position, then pull actuator interlock out of tube clearance hole.
5. Remove ignition lock drive and actuator.
Installation
1. Install actuator and ignition lock drive gear.
2. Turn ignition key to ``Start'' position to locate actuator interlock through outer tube clearance hole. Install, then torque lock cylinder housing attaching bolts to 12---21 ft. lbs.
3. Install upper and lower steering shaft bearings.
4. Install turn signal and wiper/washer switch onto steering column.
5. Install steering column into vehicle.
