If one of the subject vehicles experiences stumbles and/or hesitations on initial driveaway, the concern could be due to the use of an incorrect screw used to secure the ground wire near the power relay. The condition is intermittent and is the result of inadequate spark signal.
Figure 36:
1. Check for installation of a wax-coated screw (Figure 36). If a wax-coated screw is installed, replace it with screw part no. N801846-S36MG.
2. Perform 2.8L EEC IV "Quick Test" to assure the integrity of the EEC IV System (Refer to the appropriate Shop Manual).
