IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ THIS BULLETIN IN ITS ENTIRETY. THIS RECALL INVOLVES FIVE DIFFERENT MODIFICATION KITS. INFORM YOUR SERVICE AND PARTS PERSONNEL ABOUT THE FIVE REPAIR CODES AND MODIFICATION KITS.


AFFECTED VEHICLES


All 1984-Model F150/250 and E150/250 trucks equipped with dual fuel tanks and one of the following 49-States 5.0L engine calibrations:

Repair codes will appear on owner letters and the enclosed listing. Use this code information to order parts kits and to claim for the modifications performed.


REASONS FOR RECALL: The Environment Protection Agency and Ford have conducted in-use vehicle emissions tests on some of the affected trucks and have determined that they may be releasing levels of exhaust and evaporative emissions which exceed Federal standards.


SERVICE ACTION: Trucks involved in this recall will be modified with one of the kits described in Attachment III. Refer to that attachment for the technical instructions for the truck that is to be modified.
