Concerns of engine stumble and stall can be caused by EEC wiring harness routed too close to the starter cables or the spark plug wires. Proper wire routing is described below.

The EEC wiring harness should never run parallel to secondary ignition wires or high current battery/starter cables when they are less than 5" apart. They should not be routed closer than 3" to the ignition coil tower or the top of the distributor cap. This routing can induce interference with the EEC signals causing stumble and/or stalls. The condition may clear up while an EEC tester is hooked up because the tester will filter out the induced interference.



When EEC wires must cross secondary ignition or high current wires, they should cross at right angles (Figure 2 5) . If the wires are parallel they must be more than 5" apart.
