OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM B76 - Attachment I (SUMMARY OF MAJOR PROGRAM FEATURES)
Vehicles Involved

^ Certain 1985-model Rangers manufactured at the Louisville Assembly Plant from March 1, 1985 through July 31, 1985, and equipped with 2.3 liter diesel engines.

Notification Of Owners Of Involved Vehicles

^ Owners of eligible Rangers will receive notification of extended coverage and reimbursement with the letter shown on Attachment III.

Repairs

^ Engine repairs required as a result of the described engine block casting flaw are covered under the program. Engine repairs required for reasons other than this condition will not be covered under the program.

Extended Coverage

^ Extended coverage for no charge engine block replacement will be provided to owners of eligible 1985-model Rangers equipped with 2.3 liter engines for 5-years from the vehicles' in-service date or 60,000 miles of operation, whichever comes first.

^ Engine damage as a result of this condition will also be covered without charge within this time/mileage limitation.

Reimbursement

^ Reimbursement will be provided to owners of eligible 1985-model Rangers equipped with 2.3 liter diesel engines for engine block replacements performed at their expense at a Ford dealer or licensed repair facility within 5-years from the vehicle's in-service date or 60,000 miles of operation, whichever occurs first.

^ Owners must request reimbursement by June 30, 1987. Dealerships must submit owner reimbursement requests on separate warranty claim Forms 1863 by July 31, 1987.

^ Reimbursement includes the deductible amount owners may have paid under Ford Motor Company's powertrain warranties, Ford's Extended Service Plan (ESP) or any similar plan in effect on such vehicles.
