SAFETY RECALL 88S53 TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONSATTACHMENT III PAGE 1 OF 1
REPAIR PROCEDURES Aerostar XLT Wagon (Refer to Attachment IV)
1. Insert the E89Z-14517-A Wire Assembly Fuse Holder Jumper between the floor pan and seat wiring assembly connections located under the LH and RH power lumbar seats.
2. Route and fasten the 14517 wire assembly to the driver seat cushion frame at the #9 flexolator between the #2&3 seat rope and to the passenger seat cushion frame at the intersection of the #8 flexolator and the #3 seat rope using the provided bundling straps.
3. Trim the excess off of the bundling straps.
4. Cycle the LH & RH power lumbar seat switchs to verify all electrical connections have been made. If the system operates then the modification is complete.
5. Place the card or copy of the card describing the revisions to the power lumbar seat electrical circuit in the glove box.
Bronco II and Ranger Supercab
1. Remove the fuse panel cover.
2. Locate and replace the 30 amp power lumbar circuit breaker with a D9ZZ-14A468-A fuse holder.
3. Install a 15 amp (D9ZZ-14526-D) fuse into the fuse holder cavity.
4. Cycle the LH & RH power lumbar seat switchs to check the system operation.
5. Replace the trim panel fuse cover.
6. Place the card or copy of the card describing the revisions to the power lumbar seat electrical circuit in the glove box.
