LIGHT TRUCK 1985-86 RANGER, BRONCO II

ISSUE: The shift lever/transmission interfacing area near the lever cap may leak lubricant. The lever cap bolt flange may loosen due to "plastic creep" caused by excessive bolt torque clamp load.

ACTION: To correct leaks from the lever cap area, replace the shift lever assembly with a new design assembly (E6TZ- 7210-F) with a new, stronger housing material. Use four (4) new attaching bolts N605905-S101 (M8-125 x 20) and torque 7-10 ft.lbs. (9.5-13.6 N-m) making sure the supplied gasket is in place. No additional sealer is required.
