ISSUE: A new tool is available for servicing the distributor drive gear on the EEC Universal Distributor. The tool, D86L- 12390-A, Figure 35, is an alternate for tool D84L-950-A.


ACTION: The service procedure for use of the new tool is outlined under "Universal Distributor with EEC" in TSB 85-4-21, page 50A, Step 9. This step says invert the distributor and place in the axle bearing/seal plate and press off the gear.
