^ WARNING LIGHT - DIAGNOSIS OF WARNING MODULE
LIGHT TRUCK: 1987 F SERIES, BRONCO, AEROSTAR
ISSUE: The diagnostic procedure for the warning module that operates the "check engine" warning light on vehicles with base instrument clusters was not included in the 1987 Light Truck Shop Manual, Volume A, Section 33-51 or the Aerostar Shop Manual, Section 17-01.
ACTION: If service is required, use the following diagnostic service procedure to determine if replacement of the module is necessary.

1. Measure temperature sender resistance (at sender), Figure 8. If the resistance is greater than 12.0 ohms, replace the warning module.
2. Measure the oil sender resistance (at sender), Figure 8. If the resistance is less than 51.0 ohms, replace the warning module.
NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Shop Manual and Figures 9 and 10 for the removal and installation of the module.
