ISSUE: Surging during acceleration and/or at steady highway speeds may be caused by the vehicle calibration running too lean. This condition occurs on vehicles with less than 1000 miles/1600 kilometers.
ACTION: To correct this, change the vehicle calibration to 7-72J-R10 by installing a new level EEC IV processor (E7TZ-12A650-BLD).
Authorized Modifications Decal:
Obtain an Authorized Modifications Decal and list the date, dealer number, and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications Decal. Clean the area, install the decal, and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
