Compressor and clutch assemblies are being returned with thread damage at the shaft or manifold. Using air tools during service can cause this damage by overtightening the nuts and bolts. When servicing the A/C compressor and clutch assemblies, a torque wrench should be used following these torque specifications.

Compressor cylinder bolts (24-25 N-m) 18-19 ft.lbs.

Maximum torque to correct a (34 N-m) 25 ft.lbs.
around the bolt head

Manifold to compressor bolts (18-23 N-m) 13-17 ft.lbs.

Clutch hub nut (14-19 N-m) 10-14 ft.lbs.
