Blower Motor: Service and Repair




Less Air Conditioning
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.



2. Remove right hand ventilator assembly.


3. Remove hub clamp spring from blower wheel hub.
4. Pull blower wheel from blower shaft, then remove three blower motor flange attaching screws.
5. Pull blower motor from housing, disconnect electrical connector, then remove motor from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

With Air Conditioning
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove glove compartment door.
3. Disconnect blower motor wires from the blower motor resistor.
4. Loosen instrument panel at lower righthand side prior to removing motor through glove compartment opening.
5. Remove four screws attaching the blower motor and mounting plate to evaporator case.
6. Rotate the motor until mounting plate flats clear edge of glove compartment opening and remove motor.
7. Remove hub clamp spring from blower wheel hub, Fig. 33.
8. Remove blower wheel from the motor shaft.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
