(KAM) - SERVICE TIPS
FORD: 1988 ESCORT
ISSUE: Service code "95" in KAM (fuel pump motor circuit failure) may be displayed during the EEC IV quick test in error. This may happen when the ignition key is turned "Off" after the engine has been running and then turned back "On" before the EEC IV time relay has timed out.
ACTION: If service is required, refer to the following service information to correct a service code "95" in KAM.
1. If stalling is not present but service code "95" is in KAM, ignore service code "95". Service any other codes at this time.
2. If stalling is present and ONLY service code "95" is stored in KAM, correct service code "95". Refer to the Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Volume H.
NOTE: Service code "95" MUST always be corrected if it is displayed in KeyOn/Engine Off (KOEO) self-test.
3. If stalling is present and service code "95" along with other service codes related to stalling are stored in KAM, correct all service codes except service code "95". Check to see if the stalling symptom has been corrected. If stalling is corrected, ignore service code "95".
4. If stalling is still present after all other service codes have been corrected, correct service code "95". Refer to the Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Volume H.
