Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor:
The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor,
Fig. 5, detects the temperature of engine coolant and supplies the information to the ECA. The ECA uses this to control air/fuel ratio, EGR flow and the shift indicator light. The ECT sensor is threaded into the intake manifold assembly.
