The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, Fig. 8, provides the ECA with a signal reflecting barometric pressure based on manifold vacuum and manifold pressure. The ECA uses this information for the control of air/fuel ratio, EGR flow, fuel shutoff and the shift indicator light requirements. The MAP sensor is located behind the engine assembly on the lefthand bulkhead.
