Drive Belt

Air pump drive V-belt tension should measure 50-90 lbs. for new 1/4 inch belt, 90-130 lbs. for new 3/8 belt, 40-60 lbs. for used 1/4 inch belt and 80-100 lbs. for used 3/8 inch belt. If belt tension on a used belt is less than specified, adjust. Alternator and water pump drive V-ribbed belt tension should measure 150-190 lbs. for new 6K belt, 120-160 lbs. for new 1/2 inch belt, 140-160 lbs. for used 6K belt and 110-130 lbs. for used 1/2 inch belt. If belt tension on a used belt is less than specified, adjust.
