Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Open glove compartment door, then release retainers and allow glove compartment door to pivot downward.
3. Remove recirculation duct support bracket-to-cowl attaching screw.
4. On models equipped with electronic Automatic Temperature Control System, remove screw securing electrical connector bracket to recirculation duct. Disconnect the three connectors, then remove the bracket.
5. On all models, remove vacuum connection to recirculation door vacuum motor.
6. Remove six recirculation duct-to-evaporator or heater case attaching screws, Fig. 34, then lower duct from between instrument panel and case and remove from vehicle.
7. Disconnect blower motor electrical connector.
8. Remove blower wheel attaching clip and the wheel.
9. Remove blower motor attaching screw, then the blower motor from evaporator or heater case.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
