EEC IV QUICK TEST - 2.5L - SERVICE CODE "95" STORED IN KEEP ALIVE MEMORY (KAM) - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 1/31/88 WITH ATX TRANSAXLES
FORD: 1988 TAURUS
ISSUE: Service code "95" in KAM (fuel pump motor circuit failure) may be displayed during the EEC IV Quick Test in error. This is caused by the EEC IV processor picking up the fuel pump electrical noise and interpreting it as a component failure. These vehicles will not exhibit any type of driveability concerns.
ACTION: If service is required, perform the EEC IV Quick Test a second time. If service code "95" is still present, refer to the Engine/Emission Diagnosis Manual, Volume H for further diagnostics procedures.
