Overdrive Cancel Switch and Indicator Light
Description: The overdrive cancel switch is a momentary contact switch. When this switch is pressed, the indicator light comes on and a signal is sent to the processor assembly. The processor then energizes solenoid 4, applying the coast clutch and cancelling fourth gear operation.
NOTE: THE OVERDRIVE CANCEL SWITCH INDICATOR LIGHT WILL ALSO FLASH IF THE VARIABLE FORCE SOLENOID (VFS) IS SHORTED.
Sensor: Overdrive Cancel Switch (OCS)
Transmission function: Disable fourth gear operation
Symptoms No overdrive cancel when switch is cycled
Test codes 65 (Key On Engine Running (KOER) test only)
Actuator: Overdrive Cancel Indicator Light (OCIL)
Transmission function: Indicate overdrive caricel rnode (on) and EPC circuit failure (flashing)
Symptoms: Failed on - overdrive cancel mode always indicated, no flashing for EPC failure
Failed off - overdrive cancel mode never indicated, no flashing for EPC failure
