Fuel Reservoir Shield

1. Place vehicle on hoist and locate fuel reservoir assembly (left frame rail under driver's seat).





2. Position the shield over the fuel reservoir. Make sure the upper flange of the shield is over the upper flange of the frame rail (see Figure 1).

3. Locate single hole in lower flange of the frame rail rearward of the fuel reservoir canister.

4. Loosely install bolt through the lower frame rail and into weld nut on reservoir shield.

5. Slide one "U" nut under the reservoir shield and over the existing holes in the upper flange of the frame rail. (see Figure 1).

6. Align bolt hole in the reservoir shield with the bolt hole in the "U" nut.

7. Loosely install bolt from the top of the frame rail through the shield, frame rail and "U" nut. Do not torque bolt. Repeat "U" nut and bolt installation for other bolt hole.

8. Torque the three bolts to 21-28 Nm (16-21 Ft.Lbs.).

9. Remove vehicle from hoist. Release vehicle.
