USING QUICK TESTS

The Quick Tests are in the Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual. These tests can be used to diagnose the processor assembly portion of the E40D transmission control concerns on both gasoline and diesel engine equipped trucks.

The following is a guide for using the Quick Tests.

QUICK TEST 1.0

Perform the Visual Check and Truck Preparation procedures as outlined in the Engine/Emissions Diagnosis Shop Manual. Some of the visual checks refer to gasoline engines only.

QUICK TEST 2.0

Observe the Equipment Hookup procedures outlined.

Use the Self-Test Automatic Readout "STAR" Tester, Model 007-000017; or the "Super-STAR II" Tester, Model 007-00041; or an equivalent to access self test service codes.
