ACCELERATOR PUMP - Device on a carburetor which provides a squirt of raw fuel directly into the carburetor venturi. This prevents bogging or a flat spot caused by a momentary lean condition during acceleration.


AIR BLEED - An opening or nozzle that admits air into a flow of fuel.

AIR BYPASS VALVE ASSEMBLY:




AIR BYPASS VALVE - Idle speed control unit on an EFI unit. Passes additional air during idle to control idle speed.

AIR THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY:




AIR THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY - An EFI component, the throttle body assembly controls airflow to the engine via a single butterfly valve (dual on 5.0L). The throttle position is controlled by a conventional linkage. The body is a single-piece die casting of aluminum. It has a single bore with an air bypass channel around the throttle plate.
