Distributor Cap: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Mark spark plug wires when removing from distributor cap to ensure proper sequence during installation. Then remove high tension wire from distributor.
2. Remove the two attaching screws and distributor cap. Then remove cover and rotor. (Take care to remove gasket from cover.)

Installation
1. Position gasket onto the cover, then install cover onto distributor. Position rotor onto upper shaft.
2. Place cap onto distributor taking care to align the locating tabs. Next, install two attaching screws.
3. Install the high tension lead and spark plug wires according to markings made previously.
