Distributor Cap: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect distributor cap, leaving spark plug wires connected to the cap.
2. Using a suitable volt-ohmmeter, check resistance between each spark plug wire and its corresponding terminal in the distributor cap. Resistance reading should be no greater than 5,000 ohms per ft.
3. If resistance is as specified, proceed to Test 5.
4. If resistance is not as specified, replace distributor cap or wires as needed.
