1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove upper trunk side garnish, then lower trunk side trim to gain access to the strut assembly.
4. Disconnect programmed ride control module electrical connector from top of strut assembly, if equipped.
5. Remove programmed ride control module, if equipped.
6. Remove ABS harness and bracket, if equipped.
7. Remove rear brake drum and backing plate assembly or rear disc brake caliper, then rotor assembly.
8. Remove brake line U-clip from the strut housing.
9. Loosen the trailing arm bolt, Fig. 2. Remove spindle to shock absorber attaching bolts.
10. Remove the strut attaching nuts from inside the vehicle. Remove strut assembly, Fig. 3.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Tightening bolts to specifications.
