General Condition Chart(s)

The 4EAT symptom menu provides a breakdown to relate Customer complaints to possible faults and appropriate actions to take. Sometimes a Customer may need to be present to confirm the action of the vehicle causing the complaint. Since other areas, such as the engine and driving wheels, may affect 4EAT performance, a symptom must be isolated as an actual transaxle problem to avoid unnecessary work. Symptoms involving shift problems are covered in more detail in the Operational Test and Road Test Sections of these Diagnostics. Possible causes are listed in order of probability, but no particular order needs to be followed if experience, or past knowledge of the symptom exists.
