Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The vane air temperature sensor is an integral part of the vane airflow meter. The sensor measures incoming air temperature and sends a signal to the electronic control assembly. The signal from the vane air temperature sensor affects, air/fuel ratio, engine idle speed, fuel pressure and turbo boost pressure.
